MELISSIA SCHULZ
At Schulz Design + Build, we believe the most successful homes are created through thoughtful design, clear communication, and trust. Every detail matters — not just in how a space looks, but in how it functions, feels, and supports the way you live every day. Our role is to guide clients through what can often feel like an overwhelming process and turn it into an exciting, collaborative experience from concept through construction.
My passion for art, architecture, and design began long before college and ultimately led me to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Architecture from the University of Oregon. With a foundation rooted in both creativity and technical expertise, I understand not only how to design beautiful spaces, but also how to ensure they are functional, buildable, and thoughtfully executed.
As an NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer, I have completed one of the industry’s most rigorous professional certifications, requiring extensive education, apprenticeship, and examination standards. I continue to stay current on evolving building codes, construction practices, materials, and design innovations to provide clients with informed guidance and expertise throughout their projects.
With over 30 years of experience in commercial and residential interior design and construction management, I bring a depth of knowledge that gives clients confidence throughout the entire process. Experience matters — especially when navigating budgets, construction decisions, timelines, and the countless details that make a project successful.
What truly sets Schulz Design + Build apart is our integrated approach. As both a designer and licensed General Contractor, I remain involved from the earliest design concepts through the final stages of construction and installation. This continuity helps eliminate miscommunication, protects the integrity of the design, and creates a more seamless experience for our clients.
Most importantly, I believe great design should reflect the people who live in the home — not simply follow trends. Every project is deeply personal, tailored to each client’s lifestyle, goals, and vision. Our clients value that we listen carefully, communicate honestly, and advocate for quality every step of the way.
Whether you are remodeling a single room or transforming your entire home, we would be honored to help bring your vision to life.
We invite you to contact Schulz Design + Build to begin creating a home that is thoughtfully designed, beautifully executed, and truly Built by Design.
SONJA CAPASSO
Our Project Designer, Sonja Capasso, is one-of-a-kind at Schulz Design. She was inspired by design since youth, and followed her journey since then. After attending Palm Beach State College in Florida, she earned her Associates in Science in Interior Design Technology. With more than 5+ years of experience in interior design, her true passion for rendering and drafting has led her to this wonderful position where she focuses on just that. In addition, she is dedicated to using organic, natural, and sustainable products. This has led to her accreditation with LEED AP ID+C. Although she is a perfectionist, she is not afraid to get her hands dirty on remodel projects. She is an all-hands-in professional and that’s what we love!
